A piece of furniture will last lifetimes if it is well built, thus we pride ourselves on our quality, custom-craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our one-of-a-kind pieces serve not only as an alternative to mass produced furniture, but conserve resources for our future generations as well. In turn we are able to provide furniture that fits everyone’s home and lifestyle.
In 1983 I moved to Salem, Oregon from Fullerton, California with wife Paula and daughter Amori. My son Zachariah was born in 1986. Waconda Wood Furniture was established on a historic four square farm house property.

I started out restoring antique furniture in addition to woodworking. My background in antiques has instilled a respect for solid functional pieces of furniture that can stand the test of time. As our reputation for furniture design and building grew, we discontinued the restoration, eventually evolving into a business dedicated to construction of quality casework furniture. While specializing in hand crafted furniture with an artistic flair my designs are often inspired by Shaker and California Mission styles.

Some of Waconda Oregon Furniture’s achievements include invitations to the Salem Art Fair in Salem, Oregon, Art and the Vineyard in Eugene, Oregon and the Bellevue Art Museum fair in Bellevue, Washington. Our furniture is also featured at the Freed Gallery in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Many of the woods we use such as walnut and quilted maple come from here in Oregon because the Oregon woods are unique in color and grain pattern. A single board can inspire an entire piece of furniture, unusual textures and grains give it an identity all it’s own. Many times woods can be mixed to create an interesting, attractive effect.

We believe a new piece of furniture should serve a beneficial purpose while possessing a distinct and aesthetically pleasing appearance. After a period of time that piece takes on it’s own personality. It’s environment and the manner in which it is maintained are instrumental factors in establishing it’s character, weaving it’s story.

Our furniture requires reasonable maintenance and care but is designed to be used and enjoyed.
